This novel, based on a true story, is about power, oppression, persecution and war set in a time and in a country when historic events were shaping the future of the Middle East. The abuse of power by the ruling parties put millions of people in prison, destined to a life in exile, or condemned to death. All through history, in all parts of the world, millions of people have been and are still victims of scenario's like these, forcing them to flee their country and accept a life in exile. This is the story of one of them. The summer night skies of 1978 are filled with mysterious excitement heralding drastic changes in the lives of the Iranian people. In December of that year, the revolution erupts and brings the Shah regime to its knees. Massi fully participates in the anarchism and chaos of the revolution, supporting an ideology that is later 'betrayed' by the religious ideology of the masses. By the time Massi turns 19 he is involved in a dangerous political game and his life takes on almost surrealistic forms. The consequences will forever change his life.
