The MS is dear to the soul of henry Bamsnsw and all concernd in the due order of the Canterbury Tales, be. Cause it has, at the end of the First Fragment of Group B the Man of Law's Tale - the proper man-of-law-... shipman Link, which should hook it on to the Second Fragment that the Shipman's Tale heads. No Shipman's Tale and Frag ment 2 however follow it - but instead, Group D, - vvife, Friar, Summoner, - then Groups E, F, G, C, - and after these, the wanting Second Fragment of B, though without its genuine end-link.
