Our method of ascertaining the composition of the esters differs from that used by Auger.* 'ihe ester was de... composed with water, forming arsenious oxide and liberating the alcohol. The arsenious oxide was dissolved in sodium carbonate and titrated with n/io iodine (a preliminary test having shown that the alcohol did not react with iodine). By this means the quantity of arsenic in the ester was determined.
