Recovery Integration Model of Takaful Education Plan for Disabled Children

Realizing the increment of learning disabled children statistics in Malaysia, this study had constructed a new takaful education plan for disabled children's learning. The aim of this plan is to help parent with learning disabled children and also normal children in providing education fund. First objective of this study is comparing benefits and riders offered by takaful education plan for learning disabled children. This objective was achieved by making a comparison between five takaful education plans. Second objective of this study is constructing new takaful education plan for disabled children's learning and this new plan was constructed by applying the Integration model. Last objective of this study is investigating the public acceptance on this new plan. Hence, 26 questions were constructed and divided into five section which is also represent five independent variables which are knowledge on takaful education plan, risk attitude, social influence, child and learning disabilities risk, view on new takaful education plan; and one dependent variable which is acceptance of new takaful education plan. There were 400 respondents participated in the survey and they are parents and having at least one child. The survey was conducted in three zones in Peninsular Malaysia which are north zone (Kedah and Perlis), east zone (Terengganu and Kelantan) and middle zone (Selangor and Negeri Sembilan). Through the pilot test, Cronbach's alpha showed the questions were understood by the respondents and can be used for survey. Findings of the survey were analyzed. From the findings, statistical inferential was used to analyze correlation between five independent variables and one dependent variable in order to investigate the public acceptance on this plan. Spearman correlation had proven that all five independent variables have significant correlation with dependent variable. The analysis also showed the public agree for this new plan to be available in market. This study indirectly identifies the level of knowledge of public on takaful education plan together with benefit and riders provided by takaful operators. The findings suggest the takaful operators to apply this new takaful education plan. The findings also suggest to the public to choose takaful education plan with complete benefits and affordable monthly contribution. Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin
