For the very first time the Indonesian Sulawesi crested macaque Naruto Tangkoko (of the Tangkoko Batuangus Nature Reserve) apes us the true story behind the amazing selfie, that has captured the attention of the whole world of human selfie-crazy beings.
While humans fight each other in legal battles over Naruto's selfie, the now famous macaque (of the crested variety) takes the whole situation with a shoulder shrug, a big healthy grin and one or two pieces of delicious fruit (often followed by the occasional nap).
It is as if Naruto want to tell us, that instead of fighting over a selfie, humans should rather spend their precious time minding their own human business, treat one another with treetop high ethics and not destroy everybody elses habitat and lifestyle.
Sulawesi crested macaques are critically endangered, according to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature's Red List of Threatened Species.
Non-profit monkey business is always a welcome kind of business!
