Roni Bagedonas faces challenges as a special education teacher with an autistic student and an emotionally disturbed pupil in her classroom of six special needs children. Roni's private issues with body image are pressed by the former beauty queen who is now her aide. Joe Malinkavich is back from Afghanistan where he served as a medic. Dealing with PTSD, Joe is an emergency responder for the fire department. Both Roni and Joe want a relationship, but find obstacles. When they are confronted with the issues of life in a visit at a VA Hospital, they set new priorities. This book explores the issues of PTSD, body image, challenges of urban education, autistic children, foster care and forgiveness.
