Scriptural forms of government, that we may the better All speak the same thing and be joined together in one mind, and that we may give united a... nd distinct testimony of our faith on points on which we are agreed. We do this, not in the character of legislators, but of students of the Word, disciples of Christ, em bodying what we trust we have learned from His Word of the mind of the great Lawgiver on these points; while to that great constitution, the charter of our rights and duties, we appeal on all questions; and to its mandates we humbly bow. Whatever we there find, we will believe and practise.
