The Old Lion Publishing House is a well-known and cherished Ukrainian publishing house that has specialized itself in providing exciting and inspirational reading material for the entire family. Initially Old Lion was a small press run by two people and its focus was mainly on publishing children's literature, but Old Lion has grown exponentially through the years and is now producing books for all ages. For over a decade Old Lion has been one of the leading publishing houses in Ukraine and it has enjoyed great popularity for its big repertoire of picture books, fairy tales, teen series, poetry, nonfiction and Ukrainian and international novels. Books from the Old Lion Publishing House have been published in more than forty-two countries across the globe.

Old Lion was founded in Lviv by the artistic couple Marjana Savka and Yuri Chopyk in 2001. Yuri Chopyk is a rock guitarist, while Marjana Savka is an accomplished poet and author of children's books. One of Marjana Savka's many children's books is "Sandals for a centipede" a sweet poetry book filled with charming poems about a centipede and its many animal friends.

Saxo is proud to collaborate with Old Lion Publishing House in a Danish initiative to produce 13 children's books written in Ukrainian. The books will be distributed to Danish libraries and be put up for sale in Danish bookstores because of the many requests for Ukrainian children's literature. The profits of the sales goes directly to Old Lion Publishing House and its many dedicated employees.
