Excerpt from Elementary Anglo Vernacular Grammar: English and Burmese
This little book is composed of lessons prepared by the writer for her own classes, and does not profess to be more than its name indicates, an elementary work. It is hoped however that it may by found usef... ul, as a means of famil iarizing the student with grammatical terms and their meaning, in a simple form, so that many of the difficulties met with in the study of English Grammar may be over come at the outset. As it is not intended to give instruction in Burmese, the use of Palr' terms (requiring nearly as much explanation for the average student, as Eagles/1,) has been carefuly avoided.
The Exercises in Parsing have been placed at the end of the book, to avoid confusion. They are so graded however as to be readily used in connection with the text, commen cing with the lesson on Case. K. F. E.
