In The Education of Herbert Spencer, Spencer believes that the purpose of education is to cultivate every child into a happy person so that it is necessary to make the children study under a happy state. He emphases that education should adapt to nature of the children and adopts an education concept dominated by 'allowing children to be themselves' while his educational method has been proved to be universally applicable, because it reveals development laws of human nature and mind, thus benefit the children and their families.Shortly after his book was published, the 'ten-people committee' and 'fifteen-people committee' famous in education circle of the United States decided to conduct a comprehensive reform to curriculum setting and educational method for universities and middle & primary schools. This reform was almost conducted based on thought of Spencer, thus laying a foundation for talent advantage of the United States in nearly one hundred years.
