Forlagets beskrivelse
Excerpt from Der Bibliothekar: Schwank in Vier Akten; Edited With Literary Introduction and Notes

Most of his plays are pervaded by an air of comfort and distinction which reflects the social sphere in which Moser himself moves. The creations of his imagination are met in the salon, or in the society of the West~end club. He has the knack of imbuing them with a certain noblesse and well-bred carelessness which often goes hand in hand with negligence of workmanship, and even frivolity. Instead of straining his undoubted talents to rise above mediocrity by entering into the peculiarities and niceties of a truly comical character, and thus creating comical effects, Moser apparently feels satisfied in agreeably occupying his leisure time with dramatic writing rather than with the study of artistic and poetic work. He is not a poet in the highest sense of the word, whose art is inspired, but a clever amateur, like Whyte Melville, whose ready wit and ready pen pro vide a constant ¿ow of amusement for an easily satisfied and not over-critical public.
