Clinical Pharmacology

This book presents the basic principles of pharmacology and pharmacokinetics with emphasis on their clinical importance. It introduces clinically relevant pharmacologic agents used in small and large animal practice and includes an overview of key concepts in pharmacology including basic principles of pharmacodynamics, physiological uptake and nervous system perception. Various types of drugs are discussed including tranquilizers, sedatives, and opiods.

Pharmacologic effects side effects, drugs interaction and species differences are illustrated with emphasis on figures, charts and diagrams. The text is primarily intended for vet students, tech students, and animal science students taking their first clinical pharmacology course, but it will also be useful for residents and interns for board review, veterinary technicians as well as practicing veterinarians for a quick reference.
