I have written in the hope that I may at least do something to enable the clergy to realise the extreme difficulty of the work of Charity, and the necessity for study and training for success in any of its branches. Even more sad dening than the... harm done by well-intentioned ignorance, is the thought of what might be done by tremendous forces at the disposal of the Church, which at present are well-nigh unused.
