California begins to secede following a heated election of a racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic president. Tara Murdock, a young Democratic journalist from Arizona, and Nate Spencer, an anonymous anti-immigrant blogger in California, are each faced with the challenges of a lifetime. Tara advocates for Calexit, but she soon finds herself in a situation of life, death, and kidnaping. Nate wants to abandon liberal California, but is it easier said than done?As millions of people begin escaping California and its increasing social breakdown, or immigrating to California for its promise of amnesty, Nate and Tara need to choose what they value most. Nate decides whether or not he should leave his family behind, and Tara must choose to live her life in the liberal ideal of multiculturalism, or in the traditional America of high-trust, peaceful communities.
