The sentence appears in a certain... sense incomplete in its con traction with others, and, generally, in abbreviation, upon which the doctrine of the joining of sentences has to give detailed information. Yet in these cases the completing part is to be taken in its true shape, or with slight alteration from an existing sentence. This is also the case with incomplete answers lean ing upon preceding questions.
