As the entire work may he found to constitute too exten sive a course for... those students who can devote but a limited time to the study of Mechanics, it was thought expedient to indicate such of the more difficult subjects as might be omitted. These subjects are designated in the table of con tents by being printed ih italics; and they will be found to be unnecessary in enabling the student to comprehend those which follow.
