A Letter is publilhed in the Craf... tfman, in which fome Compliments are paid to this Gentleman; whofe Character, perhaps, is fet off to a greater Advantage, than it deferves. His Conduct in publick Life is very highly commended, and you, Sir, who was always his Enemy, thought This a fufficient Foundation to revile, abufe and afperfe Him, by way of Anfwer, and to load Him with all the Calumny, that you could polhbly croud into a Billingfgate Pamphlet, without enquiring whether He f0 much as knew of the Honour intended Him, or, if He did, whether He approved it or not. It is very pollible He might not like the many fine Things, which were faid of him, and could have wifhed They had never been faid; but furely no thing can juflify fuch an Heap of Scurrility as i.
