Excerpt from A Copious Greek Grammar, Vol. 1 of 2
After an interval of eighteen years, the learned Author of this Grammar published a new edition of his work, of which the first volume appeared in 1825, and the second in 1827. The knowledge of the Greek lan guage, especially ... of the Syntax, had made a greater pro gress in that time than in the preceding half-century; and the Author was enabled from his own continued study and the labours of other critics, to correct and eu large his original work so materially, that hardly a single section remained the same. In its present state it ex hibits by far the most complete system of grammatical rules and examples that has yet been given to the world.
