Beskrivelse

A counter-factual satirical historical novel

It's the summer of 1992. The football-infatuated Kingdom of Denmark has by chance been invited to the European Football Championships. In midst of thus instigated great national joy, however, the rain-stricken country's ruler, misanthropic, ill-tempered, and melancholic King Frederik decides to abdicate and leave his tiresome royal reins to his daughter, Crown Princess Carolina.

But the tiny royal family's plan for a peaceful succession is thwarted by rebellious Republicans Anonymous. They succeed in nicking the Golden Horns - the royal regalia - leaving the country in dire constitutional straits. And the 1,000-year-old monarchy is only saved, well parts of it anyway, due to a forgotten clerical error back in the day.

And yes, our old friend Marcellus was right.

There's something rotten.

And a dark night ahead.
